UPDATES 

For ten years now, TCSM has been working with Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council (Welcome Place) as one of their constituency groups (CGs). Through this collaboration with Welcome Place, TCSM has done the following refugee sponsorships: (UCTA partner with TCSM)

• One family of 4 members (husband, wife and two children) in 2012. This family arrived in Canada in September 2015.
• One family of 3 members (husband, wife and one son) in 2016. This family arrived in Canada in August 2019.
• One single man in 2016. This individual arrived in Canada in September 2019.
• One single man in 2019. This individual arrived in Canada in May 20 2021.

Currently we are waiting for the arrival of the following people:

1. Two single young females for whom we submitted the sponsorship undertakings in 2018. These two individuals were invited for their interviews in February 25, 2021. 

In addition to sponsoring refugees, UCTA is working with TCSM has also raised money several times to send to Sri Lanka to help some people living below the poverty line. Some of these beneficiaries have used these funds to start small businesses; some have used it to pay for their children’s education, etc.
